Does a rose stop being a rose when it is no longer admired? No, it remains a red rose. Does a rose stop being a rose when someone says they prefer lilies? No, it remains a rose. Does a rose stop being a rose when someone calls it by another name? No, it remains a rose. Likewise, your worth isn't based on the objective truth of who you are. That is, your worth is determined by how Allah sees you, not by anyone else.

Maybe in another time,
in another universe,
there is a little girl
with long, dark hair
and she is loved right
by the people who were supposed to love her.

she lies in fields of flowers
and butterflies dance on her cheeks
and the burn from the sun is the most painful thing she ever feels.

I have a big heart, anything and sometimes I hate it, I overthink, apologize too much, forgive too easily, worry too much about people who don't care about me, I feel guilty for things I have no control over, and I feel lonely because I'm afraid I won't find anyone who loves me as deeply as I love.
